Identification and determination of biocides by UPLC-MS / MS

Isothiazolinones, belonging to the biocides family, are frequently used in cosmetic products and detergents as preservatives and antimicrobial agents. They can also enter the process of making paper for food packaging to inhibit bacterial growth.

These molecules being toxic in aqueous medium, irritating and strongly allergenic on the cutaneous level, their use is framed by the texts of European laws [1, 2, 3].

To ensure the conformity of your products, an analysis by liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry is possible by Polymex.
Our UPLC-MS/MS device allows their identification and quantification with an LOQ of the order of 10 µg/L.
